Let your child make – and learn – from mistakes

Students aren’t the only ones who worry about moving away from home. For parents and family members, the experience can be just as nerve-wracking. That’s why clinical psychologist and counselling lead Dr. Tanya Spencer organizes a special session for them during NAIT orientation, which includes information about the polytechnic, its student population and the support services available.

Spencer’s message? “It’s natural to worry. Your adult child is going to make their own decisions. And – I get it – sometimes it’s painful to watch.”
