Blatchford expansion ushers in new era for NAIT
The acquisition of 21.5 hectares at the Blatchford development not only roughly doubles the size of NAIT’s Main Campus, it ushers a new era in its 55-year history.
In the words of NAIT president and CEO Dr. Glenn Feltham, the expansion lands will be “transformational.” For an institution that started out teaching 3,633 students and apprentices in 1963 to the present graduating class of 7,300, this next chapter represents a major turning point for training Alberta’s workforce.
It’s also an opportunity to reflect on how far NAIT has come since the first shovels dug into the earth on a small campus next to Edmonton’s old municipal airport.
