Convocation 2024: In pictures

Staff, family and friends gather to celebrate pinnacle of student success

On June 24, 25 and 26, the Edmonton Convention Centre hosted a scene of much happiness and hope, punctuated by many hugs and handshakes, and no shortage of hooting and hollering. The NAIT community had gathered, as it does each year, to celebrate the highmark of student success: Convocation.

"Convocation marks an important milestone in the student journey and is a special acknowledgement of the hard work and accomplishments of the Class of 2024,” says Peter Leclaire, vice-president academic. “We are proud of each graduate on this remarkable achievement and the bright futures that lie ahead.”

This year, that achievement belongs to more than 4,000 grads from NAIT’s 89 degree, diploma and certificate programs. They join a group that now includes nearly 227,000 alumni from 94 countries.

Here's a look at the highlights from a day that marks a turning point in the lives of those who chose a polytechnic education, and now look forward to seeing where it will lead them.
