Finding your way around NAIT has never been easier
Sometimes a map doesn’t show the complete picture. With a place as big as NAIT – which spans a couple dozen city blocks – indicating the location of a building or room may not be enough.
Recently updated, Campus View picks up where traditional maps leave off. The mobile-friendly app takes Google Street View indoors, providing a virtual tour of NAIT Main Campus, including the Centre for Applied Technology, opened in fall 2016. Building on a previous award-winning iteration released in 2015 (as the first of its kind in Alberta), it provides instant familiarity with more than 3,000 rooms.
When combined with a searchable bird’s-eye view of Main Campus, Campus View allows visitors, staff and students to get their bearings by seeing a building’s interior as well as details about spaces, such as retail hours.
The tool comprises a series of 360-degree views photographed roughly every three metres and also features a virtual-reality mode, bringing the online visitor closer than ever to their campus destination.
